America, at least! When Carl Erik, his brither, Jonas, and their emigrant family journey all the way across the country to their new home, they find that America is full of surprises.      I think that this story is a good story for learning about how many immigrants, particularly Swedes in this story, went inland from New York Harbor to their final destinations up north in Minnesota. I liked the train. This was a great adventure. Sandin, Joan. (1992) The long way westward New York: An I can read book

Rosie is the meanest cow in the world- and Marvin's best friend. When his family moves to a new farm, Marvin is sad and lonely... until he finds Rosie again. But now she's making a lot of trouble for everyone. Will she and Marvin ever adjust to the changes of a new life in a new place?  I really enjoyed this book and felt like it dealt well with some real feelings children might have about moving. I liked how the parents handled their childs way of dealing with his problems. Paterson, Katherine. (1991) The smallest cow in the world New York: An I can read book

When I was asked to take care of a pig, he p ut his mother's clothes on a pig.
